CWC Blogaversary - Day 2 - Pearls

Welcome to Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut's 2nd Blog-Aversary and our week long celebration!  Each day for a whole week (May 19 - 26) we will be bringing you fabulous projects made by our Design Team members.  We have some GREAT blog candy as well as some daily file and graphic give-aways -- so you will definitely want to make PCW-CWC your daily stop every day this week!

Our theme for today is

For Day 2 I created a standard size wedding card using white and silver.

Closeup of embossed card base, frame and embossed "D" w/ pearls of course!

Showing the shine of the embossed "D" a little more and the cluster of flowers.

I've had some questions regarding mailing "heavily embellished" or "bulky" cards.  I typically do not mail these types of cards in an envelope by itself, I generally mail them with a present so the card would be protected inside the shipping box.  If I were to send this card postal I would use a padded envelope (and cross my fingers it made it there safely).  Thanks for the great question -- keep them coming and I hope this answer helps!

For this card I used -
Cricut Cartridges - Martha Stewart Crafts Elegant Cake Art and Storybook
Sizzix Embossing Folder - Flower Vine #2
Recollections - Pearls (various sizes)
Embossing powder (used on "D") - Creative Beginnings Bridal (isn't that appropriate???)
Misc. - Cardstock, Ribbon, Flowers, Frame
I wish I knew where the frame came from - I would like more.

A card for Brandon!

This week Cooking with Cricut's design team has been busy creating cards for Brandon, an adorable young boy who was badly injured in a car accident.   Brandon will be the recipient of cards that come in for Madison's I Feel the Love Project for May 2012.  For more details about Brandon or the I Feel the Love Project visit Madison's blog here.

Inching by to Say Hi!

I am borrowing this cartridge and since I can't find it in stores anymore I have been stalking eBay listings.

Stickles - Xmas Red, Yellow, Orange Peel, Green, Star Dust and Firefly
Cardstock and Stickers - No information available

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day celebrating all MOM's!
And YES..........."fur-babies" count!

For the last couple of years I have been trying to incorporate my passion of  "craftiness" into the gifts that I give.  This Mother's Day in no exception and this one is SPECIAL!

Grandma's Dress
The mauve flowers (and 3 of the pearls) are made from my
grandmother's dress that she is wearing in the photo.

The lace was "aged" using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I hand rolled these flowers.

Here's a close-up of one of the yo-yo flowers with a pearl from the dress.
My dear friend, Casey, made the yo-yo flowers (thanks Casey)!
Lisa gave me he pink/mauve ribbon that matched perfectly (thanks Lisa)!

The flowers on top were a happy accident due to "an opportunity to embellish"....
in other words, the paper tore. (Kinda like my heart strings putting this one together.)

I've had this layout in my head for a while and it is
genuinely a creation from the heart!

Mom

I hope you love it!

Happy Mother's Day!

Recipe:
One very special dress
Old embroidery hoop
My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Paper Pack (Hobby Lobby)

Prima Say it in Crystals border embellishment
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Antique Linen
Tim Holtz "Memory" Key embellishment
Rhinestone framed pearl (Hobby Lobby)
Misc - Ribbon, lace, pearls, brads

Basket full of goodies...

If you are looking for the Cooking with Cricut Mother's Day Inspiration post click here to see the personalized food, treat, and Ultimate 3 in 1 (cake, cupcake and mini-cupcake) carriers.

SSSHHHH Don't tell my husband (Hi Honey!) but I like the mailman.  He's been very busy this week bringing me goodies.  One of the packages that he brought me had the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut cartridge in it!  I've already made two baskets, one for Get "Berry" Well Wishes (to be shown later) and one for Mother's day.  They were easy to put together!  I do have another item on my wish want NEED list.  I NEED the Cricut Score-Tip, although my Martha Stewart scoring board worked very well, the Cricut Score-Tip would make the projects go a lot faster.

Happy Mother's Day Basket filled with Bit-O-Honey's
**one of my mommy's favorite candies!**

This is what the cut (fit to mat) looks like on the mat.

Using the Cricut Spatula and Martha Stewart Score-Board made this project a little easier.

The handle needed a little something....
This Martha Stewart punch is one of MY favorites.

A little liquid pearls.

Recipe:
Cartridge - Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2
Punch - Martha Stewart (not sure which one)
Cardstock - Paper Reflections (Lights package)
Glaze Gel Pens - green and navy blue
Liquid Pearls - White Opal
Misc - Flowers, MS Score-Board,
Adhesive - dots and tape

Entering into the following challenge -
DL ART  - MOTHER'S DAY using a pen or a marker of some sort. (I used Glaze Pens)
LittleScrapPieces - Mother's Day Project
FCCB - Mother's Day (favorite color)
Creative Craft Room - Mother's Day
